In February 2023, Jonathan Elwing publicly argued that creating a database of pastors credibly accused of sexual abuse would "be the end of the SBC."
Fourteen months later, he was arrested for allegedly doing the very thing such a database was designed to expose.

@VeroniqueB99 Ah, he must be pastor "le SBC, c'est moi".

@VeroniqueB99

Will this capital case be eligible for capital punishment?

@w_b 🤷‍♀️
@VeroniqueB99
I've had a number of situations come up recently where an alleged "good guy" turned out to be a scumbag predator. I thought it made perfect sense. The best cover is to be the person speaking against it. Similar to the people who lecture about Christian sexual morality and then get caught cheating or in a gay relationship.
@VeroniqueB99 Teachers at a certain Christian school used to call public school employees to request we make referrals to CPS on their behalf due to fear of retaliation. Maybe they still do. I'm no longer in the loop.

@VeroniqueB99 "When Jesus loved the little children, did he get arrested?"

[The caption on a cartoon I saw decades ago.]

@VeroniqueB99 It's a problem that's been widespread for a l-o-n-g time.
