Things I thought would matter but absolutely nobody gies a fuck aboot: my Scottish grandpa, the Munro ancestry, my general enjoyment of tartan.
Things I didn’t realise would matter but are vitally important: IRN BRU, hating the weather no matter the weather (I still get “he doesn’t get it” looks for liking the cold), knowing the correct time to use the phrase “blowin a hoolie”.
