We now have an experimental Matrix room: #general:ani.social

Any reason why dendrite was chosen? It seems to be no longer in development anymore, I’m not ever sure if it’s receiving security patches. Seems like Continuwuity would be a better choice if you want something lightweight

Any reason why dendrite was chosen?

Honestly, I just wasn’t aware there were other implementations other than Synapse and Dendrite. I feel a bit disappointed in myself if I just installed abandonware lol

The github github.com/matrix-org/dendrite dunno if this is the same one but it says on the page “This repository was archived by the owner on Nov 25, 2024. It is now read-only.”

Edit: Check out github.com/matrix-construct/tuwunel

The current repo is here: github.com/element-hq/dendrite

It moved, same as synapse.

Ah, so I was wrong about it not receiving security patches but it does look like the development stopped and I doubt that it will resume anytime soon given the financial woes of Matrix Foundation
Oh glad to hear it. Got a favourite?

I’m running synapse, but I set it up back when it was the only real option if you wanted feature-completeness.

Tuwunel is likely what I’d recommend to new admins.
