This shit scares me so much.
Not because I live in Kansas.
But because I *know* that this is something that's gonna happen here in Germany as well. Because conservative, and liberals will, come the time, downright cooperate with the fascists or (if it doesn't come to that) the social-democrats and the greens will accept legislation like this as a compromise for little improvement elsewhere. And I *know* that people in our conservative parties would love such legislation. They didn't want that people can change their gender in the first place.
And I am certain many people out there think the same

Shit like this makes me thinking if deleting my gender marker is a good idea or if that just makes the target on my back even bigger

I want to add: The only people I trust to not cooperate with or introduce anti-trans legislation are Anarchists.

And I am really pissed off about liberals who seemingly support trans and non-binary people and keep going. Not asking what they can do support us. Just a flag or a post on social media about how cruel this is and then they keep going on with their lives and give a shit, instead of making plans. Preparing. Organizing. Drawing a line *now*, not when politicians start to introduce their ideas.

@enbypirate On "left-wing" liberals: They might even be perfect little trans allys... but their strong belief in institutions will end up hurting us either way: They set up little gender courthouses with little gender judges, juries, cops, and executioners. They make gender affirming care harder to get without their consent and they criminalize the alternatives. Justifying this with: "protecting the children" or "integrity of women's sports".

I personally think that EU is pretty resistant to USA -style authoritarianism and that the general trend is that things are getting better. But there are daily setbacks. :(

@nitana I don't trust those institutions that far.
Everything that's needed is a fascist government in Germany and/or France and the whole thing comes crashing down.

@enbypirate @nitana and that's why there needs to be contingencies

As in: 'If you criminalize our existance, we'll return the favour - WITH INTEREST - instead of waiting to get hatecrimed AGAIN!'

@[email protected] Maybe it's because *effective means of resistance* have been criminalized since at least 1972? - And most of them are cowards and only do performative *"clout-chasing"*?

@enbypirate Presumably because any anarchist worthy of the name wouldn't go within a million miles of actually trying to make a law.
@Black_Flag besides from that I don't think that any Anarchist worthy of the name would even think about introducing any kinds of anti-queer-policy.
Cause.. you know.. the whole freedom thingi
@enbypirate One would hope so although in my travels I have come across some very dogmatic anarchists. So you can never be too careful. The best protector of your freedom is you yourself and your insistence on your autonomy and agency.
@Black_Flag yeah, I've met, especially in Germany, some very strongheaded people.
But the overall majority wouldn't even think that thought and we can depend on them to be on our side when push comes to shove
@enbypirate @Black_Flag espechally given effective means of resistance got criminalized in 1972...
