Hey media!

How is it that so many powerful people are resigning simply for having 'ties' to Epstein?

What activities specifically are so bad that they are sacrificing their storied careers?

Please stop using words like "ties' and 'associations' and dig a little deeper. What you are doing seems like a cover-up.

@mastodonmigration It's not just a story about one depraved man, but a horror story about a global elite, operating within a patriarchal framework, that created and protected a system to sexually exploit the vulnerable for its own gratification. It's a case study in how patriarchal power, when combined with immense wealth and a network of complicity, can lead to almost unimaginable cruelty and injustice, all while being shielded from consequence.

@NoOneSpecial1

Agreed, and even in the disgrace of association, still being shielded from specific enumeration of their alleged behavior/crimes.

@mastodonmigration
Guilty by association does have a ring to it but also has its limitations.
Affiliates - relations between entities.
Conspirators - one or more person joining together to engage in or promote unlawful activity or hide it with known intention within a group of sorts whether a group message, chat, in person meetings, etc.(one qualifying immunity trumps these btw.)
Accomplices - someone who engages in the unlawful behavior directly, intentionally.
All different things.

@Mage_of_Chaos

Precisely. All of these things are not the same.

@mastodonmigration

If they don’t look, maybe it’s because they too are part of the epstein society.

The most generous way of describing that kind of society is one of impunity volunteered by the institutions that are supposed to either protect us or inform us

@mastodonmigration

How many know where bodies are buried

Which golf courses

@mastodonmigration Having shared a room with Nathan Myhrvold in 2019 and watched how he treated women there, I am not even remotely shocked at his interactions with Epstein nor do I believe his claims that he was unaware and did nothing wrong aside from the 'association' and instead I say the part where he emailed requesting a specific girl be present when next they met tells the real story of their relationship.

Fuck you jackass.

And on the flip side, I think DOJ has let us see names of unrelated famous people (e.g., happened to attend the same public event) without distinguishing between them and the actual participants.
