We now have access to powerful and complex tools at no cost, it can be overwhelming. Sometimes the best way to spark creativity is to add contrains. Try restricting your color palette, or work with just cubes, or even try a more limited tool. Boundaries can push you!
@kenney Yeah, this happened with DTP (desktop publishing). Which made it possible to use lots of different fonts in the same document (Victorian circus poster style). So people did, and the results were horrible. Until people learned how to use the tools properly and stopped doing that.
@kenney better. been making my own palettes… calculated ones. i have whole 12 or so palettes each from sweets i saw in shops (m&ms, skittles, tictac, etc…) and i think of adding even more…

@kenney what many people enjoy is indexed color palettes AFAIK. so yeah, go for it ! (plus indexed color palettes are kost often synonymous to pixel art style. which is alse awesome !)
