LRT: Was just having this discussion yesterday with my D&D group, how a species that has sentience, language, and culture is by definition not "monsters", but "people", and that's why #racism has always been baked into the Fantasy genre, especially in #ttRPGs. No matter how much the old #grognards get annoyed by those of us who are #woke, I will continue to point out that I've been playing #DnD since 1981, and the racism is deep and wide. The #OSR largely exists to perpetuate it.

@GoldenGrognard Sir, I am 57 years old and have been playing D&D since 1981. You have no basis for your statement that compares with my 45 years of lived experience playing #ttRPGs, and being a part of its publishing industry.
