@mwl i dont wanna throw claims around, but am i crazy for thinking that this looks ai generated?
its annoyingly hard for me to dismiss the idea even if my gut wants to tell me its not the case
theres just some smaller details throughout the panels that feel make me feel like there is a chance its ai
but i also just dont wanna just throw around a claim acting like im 100% sure
i just wanna ask and get a genuine response on if this gut is correct or not

ill at least see if the lettering is consistent, seems like that was added afterwards but i cant tell (assuming it was ai generated anyhow)
most of what leads me to thing its ai generated is some weird inconsistencies on lines, odd coloring choices as well that no sane digital artist would realistically do, theres some inconsistent levels of detail too, and i think the biggest thing here is that the background changes between some shots, which considering its the effectively the same background for each shot i dont find it to be very likely an artist would redo the background and have it end up nearly identical for each shot, but still slightly different
give me a bit, ill do some analysis on this all myself to try and determine if its ai or not
at least if it is it doesnt seem like it was intentional from you, which doing it on accident is miles better than doing it on purpose

No clue on this piece, though. People have photoshopped Skeletor scenes for years, with varying degrees of success.

@mwl well, it certainly isnt from the original animation
also i was gonna create an image highlighting weird parts of drawing within it, but the image has, i forget the exact term for it but its the effect that causes some things like text to be red on the right side of it and blue on the left side of it
yeah this applies to the entire piece
to my knowledge thats not really something youd do with digital art, like, at all
the lines also seem pretty, weird, idk how to word it well but its something that i feel like i generally notice with ai generated imagery
ive also noticed the coloring of some things changes between panels, which is just a weird thing to do as an artist, not improbable or anything but just, a weird choice if this wasnt ai made
i am pretty certain this is ai generated by now lol

@det @mwl The way animation was done back then was to paint a static background for a particular scene, much larger than the area that would be shot for any given frame, then plop character cels down on top of it. Backgrounds and cels could usually be reused for different episodes or different scenes in the same episode. The comic looks consistent with that style. Boxes 2 & 6; and 3, 4, & 5 use the same head. Boxes 1, 2, 3, 5, & 6 use the same body with different cropping.

im just pretty sure this isnt that
it looks like its a digital piece
and with all the weird inconsistencies in the image itself, it feels like it was done using ai tools, probably doing ai edits on top of the base image to keep things consistent enough for the context of panels in a comic format
regardless of what kind of style it used, it would be very weird for the background to be slightly different between panels, clearly trying to be the same image between each panel, but changing regardless, which if that were to be done by a real artist, would be a very weird and time consuming thing to do for not much of a noticable benefit?
i am still very very skeptical about this not being created by ai

@det I'm not seeing it. Granted, my visual acuity is garbage, but I don't see any differences in the background. To me, it looks like the same image layer, with different cropping rectangles. I could probably throw the whole comic into Gimp2 and try to overlay matching portions, but that seems like a lot of unnecessary effort.
