No one told me I had to figure it out myself but the secret to perfect grilled cheese color is apparently extremely low heat
@Grisser I do it in the deconstructed Matty Matheson way, I think it just comes out better.
Toast breads under broiler with olive oil and garlic powder
flip to toast other side
mayo
heap cheese on both sides of bread
put back under broiler until melted
put sandwich together
