Stunning: Wikipedia critic Ron Merkle got banned from Wikipediocracy forum after reportedly exposing a pro-CCP editor who was globally banned by the Wikimedia Foundation and who had evaded the ban to harass editors on Wikipedia.

@double_virgule @jjanhone @Kristian_Kiehling @neilk @skua @troed The Gender Desk blog has published an article about Ron Merkle's ban from Wikipediocracy. Ron Merkle agreed with the author's speculation that the real reason of the ban was because they angered powerful people in the forum as they had uncovered one of them as being the perpetrator of a doxxing campaign.

@double_virgule @jjanhone @Kristian_Kiehling @neilk @skua @troed Even worse, they claimed that #NYPD is investigating the situation since criminal identity theft and network intrusion had been committed by the doxxer when evading her WMF global ban. Ron Merkle left some more details surrounding their forum ban as comment(s) on the Gender Desk blog.

@double_virgule @jjanhone @Kristian_Kiehling @neilk @skua @troed Apparently one or more people in the forum heckled Ron after the latter posted the findings about the doxxer on the forum, and despite Ron having politely asked the hecklers to ignore them and move on instead, their thread on the forum was locked and their account was eventually banned. Sounds like a classic heckler's veto.
@double_virgule @jjanhone @Kristian_Kiehling @neilk @skua @troed If they had indeed angered one or more of the Wikipediocracy forum's regulars there is a possible reason which had been overlooked. Ron Merkle had broadcasted their intentions on their Justapedia user page and X that they're gonna help Congress to investigate Wikipedia one day by donating relevant digital materials to them.
@double_virgule @jjanhone @Kristian_Kiehling @neilk @skua @troed Ron Merkle had posted a tell-all of what happened, on the Wikipediasucks.co forum.
