KonstantineHey @jerry - The instance where I spend most of my time (chattrbx.com) recently moved service providers / servers. The process pretty much had us starting from scratch on the new server. I tried to follow my infosec.exchange account from there and never received a notification here. I also tried to follow you and never received a response, which could just be because I'm a horrible person. 🙂 I'm just wondering if the new server needs to be put on a safe list of sorts. I imagine it wasn't initially blocked as I was able to follow you from the previous instance. Do you by any chance have some insight into the disconnect?
Jerry 🦙💝🦙@Konstantine Something is definitely going on and I'm not sure what yet. There isn't a valid reason for it to not work. I confirmed that it works when I try to follow your account from mastodon.social, but it's not working here so I need to figure out why.
Thanks for checking. There no rush to figure it out since I can catch up from this account on occasion. I also contacted the admin on my instance just in case there's something he knows (probably should have done that first).
btw, I got a little chuckle at the malicious link handle.
@Konstantine Thanks. The problem seems to be specific to instances running on this server - the same issue is happening with infosec.exchange, ioc.exchange, and infosec.space. But it's not happening on other instances on other servers.
@Konstantine For many many (many) years, maliciouslink was my preferred handle on social media sites
