If I ever find the right fabric, I would love to recreate this gown! The dots! The Sleeves! The bodice! The buttons! She comes from great-great grandmother Laura’s photoalbum, but I don’t know if she’s a relative, of a friend. Either way I definitely think it was taken in the 1860s.

Not straight no. I’d probably use a pattern from Truly Victorian and change it to suit what I want. I think they make good patterns. I would actively discourage you from using Reconstructing History.

I did check out truly victorian and I guess the patterns are at a level where I need some more tears of practice 😁

Yes, I guess they are not exactly easy. 19th century fashion in general is pretty fuzzy to make. 😊
