I spent some of my day today working on a Flyer / Poster that I'll be able to print and distribute advertising the Fediverse.

What do you think of it? Something people might want see printed / produced? or something that needs some more time.

@sam @asklemmy The screenshots of the phones aren't too helpfull on what each app does. displaying that actual homepage of the app instead of onboarding page would give a direct connection to the type of social media it delivers.

Missing screenshots for lemmy and peertube.

@lil5 My screenshots are there to show there are different apps, not show the style. Well showing the style helps, the complexity of different UIs on a small flyer can get overwhelming and complex.

This is why it's a call to action to explore what the Fediverse is instead of directing to one single app (in the future I plan to make posters / flyers on each app as well).

Lemmy doesn't have a native app like the 3 I have. (along with rule of 3s and space)

PeerTube has an app but is kinda meh with how it works, I know they are improving this but again rule of 3s and spacing.

I can see some of your points in maybe showing off the socials more but it's not meant to overwhelm people with the mixmatching UIs on such a small bit of paper. Instead make them ask questions "What is the Fediverse", "What is Mastodon", "What is Loops",

Those things get answered on
https://fedicate.org if they are interested. If i put everything that I feel needs to be on this flyer it would be way to small to read.

@sam Lemmy does have an app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.vger.voyager&hl=en

I guess I like double sided flyers more where there is some extra information on the back before I take the plunge and scan the qr code.

Currently your flyer only tells people to get off big tech's social media, not what is happening on these alternatives.

@lil5 The Lemmy app is not official, and is called something completely different confusing for new users.

Well yes I might be able to create a double sided flyer it is something that my company is most likely going to be paying for (at least for the ones I distribute) meaning it'll double up on the back as my advertisement for my company.

I'm happy to look into double siding it but there is way to much information to add to even that, The Fediverse as a whole is more complex than two pages and well I'm happy to look into making a small booklet in the future that's not what this is for.

@sam I'm not talking about adding a booklet of fediverse technical documentation, rather just saying it might be nice to see some pictures of what these apps are that fedi people use.

Ignoring Voyager due to its name is a bit strange, then don't show the lemmy icon and go for showing off Voyager instead.

Compared to Mastodon and Lemmy: Loops, Peertube & Pixelfed are pretty dead atm. Putting fedi's best foot forward.

Not seeing an arrow from X to Mastodon, Reddit to Voyager, Instagram to Pixelfed, TikTok to Loops is a missed opportunity.

On the website https://fedicate.org It's even more confusing. On the homescreen, I get some videos (who watches those am i right?), 6 overly technical insights and a button that links to fedidb home page.

On fedidb:

Twitter begrudging user: "Mastodon is an open source decentralized socia..." wtf? what does that even mean! I guess I'll click the next one PixelFed at least I can share pictures.
