there are two (2) ways i have seen this situation be recovered

one is: Buy a new mainboard lol
the other is: desolder the iDRAC EMMC
clean pads
install new preballed EMMC
somehow reinstall iDRAC firmware

i could try to put the old cpu back in

29 HOURS LATER YAAAY that was an adventure goddamn. pretty pleased with the results!

@kyle_pegasus this is a single Xeon E5-2470 v2 @ 2.4 GHz (10 cores + HT, 25MB L2, 3.6 GHz peak turbo) with 96GB of triple-channel DDR3 ECC RDIMMs (dual rank) at 1600 MT/s

sysbench --threads=1 {cpu,memory,threads} run

the previous cpu was a 6-core thing with HT so i tested both physical-only and physical+ht thread counts, turned out to be kinda interesting in the last test

turns out having a shitload of cores and cache helps in multithread applications. what a discovery we've made here today
