Private equity:

• Rental buildings are bought by these companies and filled (or not) for Air BNB, luxury housing, etc. This leaves no affordable housing.
• They price fix the shit out of these locations through rental software.
• Prices rarely go down, and if they do, it’s not much.
• They push for a building frenzy so they can park their money and rent out the bottom floor. Doesn’t matter if some homes are empty if the price doesn’t go down and you’re price fixing.
• Won’t let you work from home because it fucks with all of the above.
• Only beholden to the people who are in the club, they can do what they want with no repercussions.
