Is it reasonable to learn jewelry making for a costume?
OK, I think I have a series of courses that will get me to custom signet style ring by the summer. And a maker space with a jewelry shop.
Even better plan. I’ll be carving and sand-casting a ring next weekend. With luck it will be good enough for the costume, and without luck I will have learned a technique I can try again.
Yes, I do plan on entering my first big costume contest. And yes, I have to compete at the pro level. Which means I need to prove I am more ridiculous than everyone else.
The person who won last year made her own shoes. I think I won’t be able to do that, but I can make actual jewelry with actual metal. And that has to be worth points.
@Apiary
This is super fun art. I’ve done it a few times, the results were not great(user error), but the process is a blast!
@warrenkopp I’m looking forward to the fun part. Carving is always harder than I want it to be, but maybe this one time it will just work.
