While on a trip, including Kansas City, Dr. Heinz #Doofenshmirtz discovers land is cheaper in the Midwest so that there can be stand-alone franchise stores on their own lots.

Or so I imagine based on this clip from his co-creator and voice actor.

> Now I know what you are going to say,. "Ooh, what a magnificent arch." But that's not the shocking bit. No, not that there are two Kansas Cities right next to each other, I mean can you imagine what a problem that would be in the Tri-State Area? No, there's this brick and mortar building ... well it might be an online business as well, but I didn't check. There's this brick and mortar building with a Subway in it .... and that's the whole strip mall. That's like the best part of any strip mall and it's the Whole Mall! So I came right back and started working on my Strip-Mall-Reduction-inator to cut the terrible bits out of strip malls so they only have the stores that I want to go to. Genius, right!?

Kansas City is so modern!

I have been advised that the most famous arch in the Midwest is in St. Louis, Illinois, and not Kansas City, Missouri or its neighbor, Kansas City, Kansas. My only defense is that in flip-flopping between the specific and general when thinking about lower land value allowing franchises on individual lots in the Midwest versus coastal cities, I referenced a third state because it would be silly to have Doof obsess too much about a merely Two-State Area.

Sorry.
