OK, that works... Quite impressed with @jlc3dp

The PCB with LEDs to go inside is expected tomorrow.

Update: Someone asked me if this image was real, not AI, or proof of concept: FFS, it is a real photograph I took of a real 3D print!

And yes, I am mastodon only now, so bloody well boost 🙂 thanks. Yes, thank you.

P.S. never expected "bloody well boost" to work. Extra cool. Thanks all.

@revk @jlc3dp uh oh, bow you’ve got me wondering if a 3D printed chappa’ai could be made to rotate using the same technique as hubless clocks.
@gadgetoid @jlc3dp Way better than my effort. Impressive stuff.
@revk @jlc3dp it's quite a lot more advanced than anything I'd hoped to find! Which probably counts me out of finding the patience to build one.

@gadgetoid @jlc3dp I am not ruling out selling.

The PCB with LEDs, definitely.

But the 3D model uses some designs with non-commercial licences, so they may be OK to sell "at cost" based on what @jlc3dp charge me - I hope that fits within the licence.

Obviously I also publish the STLs to allow printing one's self.

And then a simple LED controller which I already sell.

Let's see how it goes.

@revk @jlc3dp oooh, I hadn't realised we were contemporaries in the selling-things-that-blink space (I'm not all there at the best of times). Though I had seen some of your other projects. It's a small world!
@gadgetoid @revk @jlc3dp admit it, you're already warming up the 3d printer aren't you?
@ahnlak @revk @jlc3dp I think my 3D printer has done 99.9% pull-copters for the kids, and 0.01% random little widgets for some purpose or another. It deserves better! (doesn't help that it's so small)
