Who wants to play SpinCity? It's an offshore wind farm game I might be working on… πŸ‘€

The concept is a cute, simple game that anyone can play in-browser to get a better understanding of offshore wind farms from an economical perspective as well as a construction, operation and general "holy shit that's cool".

This idea has been on my backlog for years so it's exciting to be finally working on it. I've only been tinkering on it for a few hours but I'm quite pleased with where it is so far.

Features so far…

⚑ Place individual substations, turbines and inter-array cables

πŸ“‰ Reduced turbine output when placed downstream of wakes

πŸ“ˆ Increased costs depending on water depth and distance from shore

❓ React to real costs and constraints. Want that extra turbine? Now you need another substation and export cable.

βš–οΈ Balancing the cost of construction as a Β£/MW

πŸ—οΈ Animation of wind farm construction when you're done

And that's just after the first few hours, I have plenty more ideas to expand this once I put come more time into it.

I also haven't settled on a name yet, though I do quite like Turbine Tycoon πŸ€“

So would you play this? I'd love to hear your ideas and suggestions for features and things to consider in the game.

@robhawkes I'm only playing if it has a disaster mode with Godzilla destroying my wind farm
@jez That's a shame, I was only planning to have a kraken as a disaster πŸ˜‰
