Anyone have one of these SimpleCom USB-C KVM switches?

Know if it switches automatically as machines are plugged in/turned on or do you need to press the button?

Simplecom KM470 2-Port USB-C KVM Switch 8K Docking Station HDMI 2.1 DP for Laptop Tablet

Simplecom KM470 2-Port USB-C KVM Switch 8K Docking Station

KM470 is a 2-Way USB-C KVM switch that allows you to control 2 laptop computers with only one set of USB peripherals and one external display. The KVM switch also acts

@mjog Some of it's features confuse me:
* Self-powered via connected laptop, no external power required
* PD charging

@LovesTha Well, it means if you don't need PD (which I don't), you don't have to also plug in a wall wart just to use it, which is a key preference for me.

"PC1" would be a desktop and hence doesn't need PD, and "PC2" will be one of two different laptops, one of which would benefit from the DP Alt Mode output, and one that wouldn't. But neither would use PD since I prefer to handle power independently from peripherals.

@mjog except i can't find a power input for the PD to source from.

@LovesTha Hmm? Like, on the device itself?

The ports labelled "PD100W" are the PD inputs - you plug your PD wall adaptor(s) in to each of those as needed.

They are permanently connected somehow through to the respective PC1/PC2 ports, which are the links to the actual computers, since it supports changing both PC1 and PC2 simultaneously from their respective PD ports.

I assume each PC/PD port pair is connected to its own individual USB hub or similar, and when the KVM switch cuts between PC1 and PC2, it basically disconnects the USB2.0 ports and DP/HDMI outputs from one hub and connects them to the other.

@mjog a port labeled PD I expect to supply power not need it.
@LovesTha That's why it's always important to read the documentation ;)
