On that note: Are there European alternatives that have a comparable good user experience?

@marcus I am using KeepassXC, but It's by far not as polished as 1pwd. The integration works fine most of the time, though. But yay selfhosted!
@Lippe @marcus It looked promising at first, but there's a catch regarding export/import of 1pwd files. I come from the old non cloud 1pwd and had to use csv as export format. KeepassXC would import w/o problems, but data is lost b/c 1pwd has a lot of custom columns in the csv if you're using their login type feature (servers, login, bank accounts etc)
@webrocker @Lippe Interesting and frightening at the same time. I'm reading more and more of the same on reddit. It's a disgusting way to lock users in

@webrocker that may be. I came from a password.txt file, a logins spreadsheet, some scribbles on a piece of paper and a sophisticated onlineservice-number-string-exclamationmark password pattern. Almost no information was lost during that fleshbased import. But a whole lot of accounts were closed... ;)

@marcus

@webrocker oh, btw, there are some rumors about possible vibecoding going on at KeepassXC IIRC. I have not paid full attention but I hope I don't have to look for an alternative soon. As for all these opensource apps there were also lots of forks and team splits in the past. There is at least also a keepass without the xc....

@marcus

@Lippe @webrocker Oh, thanks. I hate these times (if the rumors turn out to be true. Vibe coding a password manager, my ass)
