Yeah ok I mean that’s literally what’s happening. But is there a joke? Or something unexpected, insightful, thoughtful, humorous, something special or of any significance other than a random statement? What’s sad about it? Why a robot? Why a liebot? Is he lying?

The punchline is the setup. It’s an anti joke. Perhaps a bad one, even. Quite rare in this joke landscape, I can see why it needs to be preserved

Tbh, I feel like calling this “sad” doesn’t do a good enough job of refuting the underlying misogynist belief (that a woman’s worth is her looks) that the parents have.
