I might get a new mouse.

๐Ÿ‘‰ I want more than 2 buttons on the side.
๐Ÿ‘‰ I'm a medium sized "claw gripper"; none of that wide body "palm grip" nonsense, with thumb rest or lockable ring-finger button.

I want internal macro storage (no Windows driver/App) - i use Linux.
I want a cable, because i absolutely disagree with the security implications of wireless/RF keyboards and mice.
I want my private (not shared with my neighbours) medium, i.e. a cable, in order to transmit my inputs to my computer.

๐Ÿงต 2/n well, i don't mind setting up a Windows VM (or use the Tablet), in order to configure the mouse.

Internal macro storage means, that i must be able to set my shiz up, unplug it, plug it into another PC, and it just works, across operating systems / platforms, because it's just USB HID.

My Logitech G203/G Pro present themselves as 2 USB HID devices - a mouse, and a keyboard - that's why i can map ctrl+w to their DPI buttons. (config via Windows tools, but HW works fine on Linux)

๐Ÿงต 3/n a Corsair Scimitar RGB Elite it is, for now.

The side button pad is adjustable to fit my thumb length.

I'll try an see whether i can handle such a chonky specimen. I usually claw grip, and this thing is rather wide. I'll have 30 days to return it.

No worries, i do not intend to become a MOBA/RPG gamer - i despise magic!

But my macro button fancy has been tickled, and i want to find out what happens. I'll mostly do window/browser control, beyond prev/next.

๐Ÿงต 4/n i've just learned another lesson, the hard way;

Don't buy USED computer mice, unless the ACTUAL item is clearly advertised/described/photos!

I could've bought this one for 60 bucks, brand new, full warranty, and all!

No, no, no, i'm a cheap tight-arse; i went for the commercial seller, who offered 10 bucks off, for a used one! ๐Ÿ˜…

They shipped me a FILTHY mouse - and i'm not a hoiti-toity kinda guy - it was FUCKING FILTHY - NOT as advertised!

Same day DHL-retoure + refund, yay! ๐Ÿ––๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿป

๐Ÿงต 5/n turns out, i can't adjust to palm grip - returning the Corsair Scimitar.

I'll try the SteelSeries Aerox 5 (wired) next. It has similar / claw-grippable dimensions as the G203, is a bit lighter, and has more-enough side buttons with internal profile memory.

๐Ÿงต 6/n I'm not happy with the #SteelSeries Aerox 5 either.

๐Ÿ‘ low weight
๐Ÿ‘ anti-sweat perforations
๐Ÿ‘ light & flexible cable
๐Ÿ‘ on-device macro storage
๐Ÿ‘ DPI-Button is also re-mappable
๐Ÿ‘ Windows app doesn't require registration

๐Ÿ‘Ž ~1cm too long / barely claw-grippable (i move the mouse by moving my fingers - i don't rest my palm on the mouse - even the G203 is too long for my taste)
๐Ÿ‘Ž RGB settings are NOT stored on-device (Windows App required)
๐Ÿ‘Ž re-grip required to access the forward thumb button
