What's ironic is, as I understand it, IBM is still barred from announcing future products, because they used to kill competitors by announcing competing products. Like, who's gonna but $widget from Daryl, Inc when they can wait a year and buy it from IBM instead? Daryl goes out of business and IBM never has to actually develop the product.
