@skeletor That past version of me wouldn't admit it though.

@skeletor There's also a past version of me that's pretty pissed the fuck off at the guy who sitting there all proud and shit too. He'd already built himself up after huge mistakes and is very mad all that work was wasted.

Is what it is.

@batkaren 12 years ago on WTF, a writer from American Dad posed this test: if you were watching a movie of your life, would you still be rooting for you? I was like 🥴. I'd be yelling at the screen "Do Something! Advance the plot! No, that's obviously the sub-optimal choice , you lazy coward!" and the like.

@skeletor Depending on which past version of me we're talking, I'd be going "ohhhhhh".
Or at least saying "well, we do have a job and that's something"
@skeletor I don't really trust my past self and my past self didn't trust me.
@skeletor pretty sure my past self thinks i'm a fuckin loser, and he's right.
@skeletor Either that or the past self would laugh at the absurdity of any of the future events happening. Which, in hind site, is probably an accurate response. But he'll realize the situation soon or later. 🙃
@skeletor past version would be wondering what the fuck went wrong. In hindsight need not have bothered with anything post 20th century.
@skeletor I'm not so sure about that one tbh....
@skeletor nooo... that's precisely the problem! you *would* blow the mind of your past you IF you could show them how far you have come... but you can't. and your current you probably has much higher standards and expectations. your current you and their (possibly unrealistic) expectations are all you have to work with to make yourself happy about you.
