Whatever happened to the old-style food processors? The processor, pictured, is a Braun Multipractic 9 Deluxe Type 4259. It has the control and motor on the left, with the processing bowl on the right. This style of food processor doesn't seem to exist any more. Shame, I was wanting to buy one.

The modern-style has a vertical arrangement, with the bowl on top and the motor & controls below. My presumption is that many people have space constraints, so a vertical arrangement is more convenient.

@fitheach Your post made me curious so I did a search on Argos and you're right in saying that the modern style is a vertical arrangement, but they did have one Kenwood brand processor in the style you are looking for: https://www.argos.co.uk/product/3249040

@matt
Thanks for that.
It seems to be the case that "mini" or "compact" models are still available in the classic arrangement. I already have a Mini Chopper:

I was wanting a much bigger food processor. I make a lot of cauliflower rice. Using my Mini Chopper takes about 4-5 goes to do a big cauliflower.

I'll either have to go for a vertical model, or buy secondhand.
