@atpfm, Greetings to the three of you. Quick question: how do you trigger the sound effects (synology, file system, etc)?

(NB I listen to the bootleg, I don't think you edit it, I haven't checked whether the live feed has it)

Because I find it both hilarious and impressive to imagine one of you with a dedicated key combination and be at all times ready (impressive because the timing is so good, that's Olympic champion reflexes)

Or do you use some software to react on spoken keywords: which would be equally impressive for having no false positives and for the setup.

@marcoarment @siracusa @maccatalan the vibraslap always feels a little slower to trigger than the bell. is it due to vibraslap placement, or is the "synology" reflex not quite on par with "filesystem” yet?

@callin @marcoarment @siracusa @maccatalan honestly whatever the reason I love that it “sounds” like marco has rushed (go go go!) to grab it and get it making noise (even if he is actually ready and calm with it).

@chipish @callin @siracusa @maccatalan I'm faster on the bell because it's a one-handed thing, and it's right next to my mouse pad and mute button, so my hand's already right there.

The vibraslap lives on the opposite corner of my desk and it's a two-handed operation: I have to pick it up, orient it correctly, then hit it with the other hand.

So it's MUCH slower, and I'll usually scoot it back in time during editing so it sounds faster, whereas I almost never need to change the bell timing.
