Morning Mastodonians!

I normally wait until the end of the snowstorm to shovel out. My driveway is very short, and with two cars parked on it, there isn’t much to shovel. But my puny electric snowblower had a lot of trouble during the last snowstorm, so I figured I’d get ahead of things. I shoveled three times, and I think it helped, although the wind was howling, so there was plenty of drifting. I may brave the roads today to make a grocery run. I hope they have eggs.

I normally work from home, so having the wife (a MIT HR professional) and two daughters (one a vet tech and the other a third-grade teacher) lounging around is wreaking havoc with my routine. Everyone is home again today. I will do some more shoveling. Perhaps I will close the “poop loop” so the dogs can wander a little further afield. There is a good 2 feet of snow on the deck, so I’m not sure I’ll have the strength or energy even to make a path to the other side of it.
I really enjoyed the French #movie Portrait of a Lady on Fire—part of our New York Times top 100 list. The acting was incredible, the story, while hackneyed, was powerful, and the cinematography absolutely blew me away. There were so many great shots, both close-up profiles and wide landscapes. The actresses were striking without being distractingly beautiful, and their expressions, displaying inner torment, were mesmerizing. I definitely want to watch this one again.

I did another demo in the #SaltMine, and it went OK. I have been doing what I’ve been asked to do, but they always seem to want a little bit more. I should’ve taken more notes. And my other task is just about done. I added another small feature, and I hope they don’t mind. I am piggybacking on that merge request to do it. Sometimes, they can get a little touchy if you expand on the scope of an MR.
