#Linux on an old #MacBookAir. What are my best options?

@anders what's the spec? I'm running @getsolus on a 2011 MacBook Pro which is a quad core intel. I need to up the memory from 4Gb, and went with 16Gb and it works really well.

@NigelGreenway Haven’t started the machine for years, so don’t remember. :) But probably from around 2015 or so, with at least 8 GB.

@anders @NigelGreenway I installed Ubuntu on my old Macbook Air, but couldn't get sound out of the speakers, only headphones.

@anders @getsolus it's enough to get it running and measuring the performance of it. I believe 8gb should be more than enough. You could try something else distro wise like BunsenLabs (Debian based) which is lightweight
