I didn’t “make up” anything, I commented about an experience I have witnessed among many, many of my peers. Shitty parents who fetishize rules and uphold them over what is right are very common in my personal, lived experience. I’ve seen it plenty of times. Solitary confinement is torture, punitive beatings are torture. Where I’m from, it’s very common for parents to inflict these forms of torture on their children.
