Ughhhhh someone submitted an app to appcenter that is not only obviously vibe coded because Claud is on the repo but also because there’s a lot of really big mistakes.
Honestly I don’t like this at all. If you want to learn to write apps please ask for mentorship and join our community there’s lot of people willing to help. But I can’t help but feel like this is a waste of my time because you’re not learning anything this way. It feels gross

@danirabbit

I had a very similar situation recently (somebody asking for a package review for Fedora). They obviously Clauded or Codexd the thing in the first place (there were some obvious hallucinations) - and then fed any feedback I had or links to documentation included back into the orphan crushing machine rather than trying to understand / read documentation themselves.
Just felt like wasted effort - especially because package reviews are supposed to be based on a mentorship model ...

@decathorpe @danirabbit "I have the option to use claude if I want to. If all you're going to do is forward stuff to claude for me to clean up, what do I need you for again?"
@landley @danirabbit yeah I mean at that point you've basically removed yourself from the conversation entirely - and what's the point of having human-centric mentorship / contribution models then?
