smalldog club ☑️Damn! Usually this happens on the way to get an annual inspection. Fortunately I just had one, so I guess I can keep driving unless there is a sign of trouble.
A check engine light means the inspection will fail. It's a hassle because you have to get it fixed then drive it quite awhile before going back to the shop to try to pass again. The code has to clear from the computer with driving.
Sometimes the light just goes out on its own. I'll hope.
