Any @openstreetmap #OSM editors... I've added several new roads, connecting between existing roads, from a bike trip I just took, and the new road now appears on the map, but I can't get the routing in the ridewithgps route planner to use it. The way shares nodes with the roads it's connected to, so now I'm wondering if I've given it a surface type that the routing won't use (though it won't route pedestrians on the new way either) or if there's a lag between the vector ways and the OSM outdoor tiles being cached or something else I'm not understanding. Example changeset:

Changeset: 178755404

@ZaneSelvans @openstreetmap I don't know about ridewithgps, but most routing software requires extensive pre-processing to take the #OpenStreetMap Planet files, simplify complex features down to much simpler networks (junctions, and weightings between them ONLY), and then use for routing.

I'd be surprised if this happens more than a couple of times a month!

So a changeset barely a week old won't have been processed.

Some routers publish their tag usage - may be worth a look.

@jamesderrick Ah okay that makes sense! I thought it might be something like this since the pre-rendered tiles and vector data are obviously separate layers. I'll keep checking in occasionally and see how long it takes and if there's still a disconnect after a month dig deeper.

If you want faster, OSRM updates about every other day:

If you see something incorrect as you’re planning or navigating a route -- perhaps a gravel road that you know and love is incorrectly labeled as pavement -- you have the power to become an OpenStr...
