Third party connectors expand the types of content you can view in Tapestry. Adding connectors is now easier than ever in v1.7.

Simply paste a URL to a connector or repository into the new Connector Finder like the excellent Apple Newsroom connector by @simonbs and let Tapestry do the work for you.

@Iconfactory hi friends, how can I recover from tapestry going blank on all devices? Mac and iOS show nothing, scared of resetting iPad and losing all saved again.

@FossilzedCarlos make sure all copies of Tapestry are running the same latest version, including on the Mac.

@Iconfactory just for my own reference here, but would you recommended not updating unless I can update everything? I have auto update on some things, so this is not great when traveling 😅 and not being able to update everything

@FossilzedCarlos yes, unfortunately when there’s a version mismatch, Tapestry can’t load the data properly. It’s been an issue since the beginning, but it’s a really super hard problem to try to fix. cc @bigzaphod

@Guildenstern No, replying is on the list to do. Super hard. It’s not just Bluesky and mastodon (Tumblr, Microblog, etc) and there’s a million exceptions (char count, username lookup, image size restrictions etc etc) that make simple “replying” not simple. Hang in there.

@Guildenstern Yeah this is why we gave the community the ability to create their own connectors. There are tons of custom sites out there each with their own audience / requirements and we can’t create them all ourselves unfortunately, there’s just not enough time in the day. Might reach out to some of the devs on our connector page and see if one would be willing to help.

@Guildenstern For now Tapestey uses your Open In prefs to open a Mastodon or Bluesky timeline item in the third party app of your choice so you can reply. It’s pretty quick and easy but we know doing so within the app itself would be better.
