mimi89999@grote @fdroidorg did you consider taking into account the number of releases? I guess that the more updates an app will have, the more downloads it will get (users updating the app). Or is that already accounted for?

Yes, you are right. This is just naive data distillation. Numbers aren't to be taken at face value. You'd also have to consider that most downloads happen through mirrors.
