This is a report that drove Scott Bessent particularly nuts last week, showing that the tariffs SCOTUS just threw out creates s huge hole in the budget (where taxes on oligarchs should be). I especially like the distinction between IEEPA tariffs and actual legal ones. www.crfb.org/blogs/scotus...

@emptywheel.bsky.social I read that lutnick’s son’s company offered Pennies on the dollar to those importers affected by these tariffs in case the tariffs had to be paid back… the company would receive the paybacks, the importers would have received the pennies already… heck of a gamble UNLESS you KNEW that these tariffs were going to be paid back. Hmmmmm
