Jeri Dansky@djflore Such wonderful photos! These bring back good memories of my trip to Vietnam way back in 1992. But you took much better photos than I did.
@jeridansky I suppose the equipment also made it easier than back then! Amazing, must have been so different.
@djflore It was an amazing time to be there; the country had just opened up to individual tourists, so I was able to go by myself instead of with a group. Everyone wanted to practice their English with me, and wanted to know if Mr. Bill Clinton was going to lift the trade embargo.
@jeridansky this is incredible - did you ever consider writing about the trip?
@djflore No, I didn't. A lost opportunity, probably, since it would be difficult to do now, so many years later.
But here's a bad photo of me and the ladies I did Tai Chi with beside a lake in Hanoi, for five mornings. I don't know much of anything about Tai Chi, but I was able to follow along and they were happy to have me join in. We had zero language in common, but it didn't matter. One of my favorite memories.
@jeridansky even the glimpses you just shared here are worth recording, who knows for whom it has value, but most of all it might be for yourself to read them in the years to come - this is how I feel abou my own blogs. ☺️
