I wonder if one of the things that bothers us about generative AI is to do with the nature of perception. The reason we see and hear is to tell us what is in the world around us, so we can act on it to survive. Even with art of things that never existed we know that it existed in someone else's brain, which, as social creatures, helps us survive. With generative AI we know there's nothing on the other end, it's pointless and we feel tricked into paying attention to it. Maybe?
@subtl Biologically experienced reality, maybe with exceptions. Non biologicals have to go to court with Picard and Riker to determine if you have the same rights as us, or the rights of a toaster.
