I made very little progress this weekend with #fibrechannel.

There aren't that many distros that can boot the installer over fibre channel. Once I figure out what I want to host, I can at least try booting over USB and installing to the remote disks.

I did pull the 500GB nvme drive from my VisionFive 2 and install it in my target machine on a PCIe card to host the disk images. The sata drive was starting to hang up, like it was wearing out. This should help.

I bought two OM4 cables too.

I can't believe I could casually buy a 500GB nvme a couple of years ago. I wouldn't do that now.

I spent some time configuring my T3500 and relearning the ins and outs of iSCSI. This is one of the computers I have 40Gb Ethernet in, so why not make use of that.

Targetcli also acted like I could set up the qlaxxx targets even though the driver doesn't seem to be able to map the address space of the card. So we'll see if that actually works when I bring everything online later.
