A woman stopped me on my evening walk the other day (first in-person interaction I'd had with anyone in over a month), asking if I had a younger brother or a son. I explained that I don't, and they kept saying that they'd seen a young man cycling wearing my jacket (I wear my cycling jacket and gloves when walking in summer to keep the sun off). I said that I sometimes cycle, but she repeatedly and emphatically kept telling me it was a young man.

A week or so later, the same woman called out to me multiple times to grab my attention so that they could to repeatedly say "I said hello neighbour!" to me

I'm a big fan of being neighbourly/having positive interaction within one's local community when someone's open to that, and I generally like to be approachable, but I don't know how else to signal that it's not a good time for me (I had a migraine, had headphones in, and was walking on the other side of the road without making eye contact)

@Cheeseness wondering if she could possibly have Alzheimer’s or dementia starting. Loses the social filter.
@cobalt123 It's possible. I don't have any context - I assume she recently moved to the area and I haven't had a conversation with her

@Cheeseness @cobalt123

I admit, I am one of these neighbours.

Hello!

@Cheeseness this could be an early sign that you're in a time loop
@mattgriffin Surely it'd be a late sign if younger me's already been in it conveniently cycling around the block when I'm not.
@Cheeseness late, early, it's hard to say in loop situations.
@Cheeseness Is it possible that you are starting to age in reverse and future you is trying to find you in our present time?
@aarroz Possible, I suppose, but surely I'd just knock on my door? I doubt I'd forget where I lived.
