I may be biased as a Palestinian, but in those countries most people don’t care who a person worships as long as they themselves don’t hurt others. You have mosques across the street from churches.

It can be a bit variable with Islam, but depending on what you follow there’s maybe an exemption from having to fast during Ramadan if your well-being is just generally at risk from doing so. There are also several groups that are exempted, but don’t think any of them apply here.
