Claude Code is the most enthusiastic I’ve felt about a technology since the iPhone. I expect the level of disruption and transformation it creates will be of similar impact.

The adoption curve across industries is the main open question I have.

@carnage4life Don't overdo it.

It is far from perfect when it comes, e.g. to reverse engineering or scraping websites (just my professional experience as somebody who has done that professionally for over a decade), but it is at least hardworking in its mediocracy.

Which means that especially much more of the medium-difficulty-level scraping stuff gets done, because Mr. Sonnet keeps working on it when humans would have raised the question, is it worth it?

@carnage4life imagine living such a tedious, low-stakes life where you got excited about being able to text your house to turn off the lights.
@carnage4life I wonder when open source models reach Claude opus 4.6, gpt-5.3 level and can run on local hardware. Instead of renting all those entshittified devices, you buy the devices, let the LLM reverse engineer it locally and do with them what you want

Just, this screenshot... Naming the thing after a well known character who's a slave? Not very tasteful 😬
@c_cube @carnage4life The intended purpose of the companies developing this technology is to further the immiseration, disenfranchisement, and subjugation of the labour class. Calling this one Dobby is just accidentally saying the quiet part out loud. The fact that they look at something that they believe will replace employees, and treat it as a slave, should tell you everything you need to know: they already see us as slaves.
