A very detailed shaded map of Miami, Florida, US. The full map is 24000 x 24000 pixels with 1 ft resolution and is available at https://shadedmaps.github.io

@shadedmaps Love your shaded relief work. Sharing a couple of LiDAR sites I’ve worked on and actively contributed to — they might be useful as extra inputs for future maps.

LiDAR Jalisco

@hbecerra hey thanks for the links! Already working on it ;-)
@hbecerra and by the way, are you aware of any other urban LiDAR datasets in Mexico?

@shadedmaps here is very limited LiDAR data available as open data worldwide; Jalisco is probably one of the few regions in Mexico offering large-scale datasets. You can explore and download some data here:

Nube de puntos

Se emplean nubes de puntos clasificadas, obtenidas a partir de datos LiDAR, para representar con precisión la superficie terrestre y sus elementos. Esta técnica segmenta los puntos en categorías específicas, como suelo, vegetación, edificaciones e infraestructura, lo que facilita el análisis detallado del terreno y sus componentes.

@hbecerra Thanks! It's an impressive collection!
I'd like to create a unique shaded map of Guadalajara, Zapopan, Tlaquepaque and Tonalà: should be the 4 major cities of Jalisco in the same metropolitan area... but I can't find the point cloud of Zapopan. Is it missing? There are several minor cities and towns, and Zapopan is not available 😞
@shadedmaps Zapopan is a very secretive municipality when it comes to its geospatial data.
