2 good experiences & 2 bad ones this week, when trying to switch away from #bigtech
The good:
- Switching email has been so much easier than I feared!
- Proton Drive & Proton Docs seem like a perfectly fine replacement for Google Drive & Google Docs - I don't feel like I'm missing out.
The bad 🧵
The Bad:
- Proton Calendar is still a fair bit worse than Google's, particularly the lack of "Tasks" or "Reminders" is a dealbreaker for me to move.
- I tried "Mistral Vibe", for a small web-scraping project, and I really wanted it to be good, but while it was perfectly sycophantic about my ideas and it's "perfectly implemented" work - even after many rounds of prompting it didn't actually get the right results :(
