Sometimes I find myself booting up my System 7.5 VM, since I'm actually finding I'm more productive using that then modern software.
Nothing web-based works there, of course, but perhaps that's part of the reason why I'm more productive.
Plus, I miss it. It was a really comfortable system to use and program for. They had high standards.
It feels really good when you get a system all customized and working smoothly, with all the tools you need, and everything integrating together.
That was how things were for me back in the System 7.5 days. I've never got back to that state, despite trying. That was the peak of computing for me.
I held out as long as I could, and was still developing Linux software using a 7600 running System 7.5 with an X server until 2011.
