This rather fierce-looking feline is from Quadraro, a working-class neighborhood of Rome that was known to the Nazi occupiers during WW2 as The Wasp’s Nest, due to the intense resistance they encountered there. Today, the battle is between long-term residents & developers who want to transform the neighborhood into a chic yuppie village.

This cat is probably a Communist, and suspects me of being a gentrifier.
