I think one of the funniest things is how frontier labs spout how AI is writing their code, but the reality is that the products they ship are buggy, resource hungry messes. It's kind of the worst advertisement ever for both their products and their worldview.
@mitchellh yeah, like how yegge’s posts talk about how amazing all this stuff is and also about how many sev0 data loss bugs he is fixing
@lkanies yep. Like I like and get value out of these tools but why we gotta talk such extremes with poor examples

@mitchellh yeah.

I get a lot of value from them, too. But I also know it still takes a lot of work to turn the LLM output into a useful, stable product that can be maintained over time.

@mitchellh don’t worry, I bet all they need is a few hundred billion more parameters and these companies will start shipping good products
@mitchellh do you think that it going to affect the upcoming generation of devs regarding how impulsively they are trying to promote the extinction of developerkind :)
@mitchellh it’s also a negative feedback loop: the more you vibe the more you need the agent to make changes because you have no context on the impl.
@mitchellh almost like if you need more than just vomit code to build something great.
