Despite the 'realism' of it being "oh god really, more of this?" I kinda love how the big bad of The Unsleeping City is kind of, across both seasons, 'capitalism' of 2 different rampant flavors, and also the disaffection and disenfranchisement caused by endless growth and undercutting (a-la Amazon), in a sense.
Not far enough into S2 to find the source, of course, and S1 did have a singular villain source, but still clearly capitalism.
