im looking for a linux fonts viewer/browser software (for the fonts in my ~/.fonts forlder) that could like
* show different fonts side by side
* input custom text
* make my own collections or favorites (?)
@doriane I’m using fontmanager https://fontmanager.github.io/. Satisfied, but maybe because I didn’t find better solution !
Redirecting to https://github.com/FontManager/font-manager

@QuentinJuhel
Good choice, there isn't anything better for the moment. FontBase arguably has richer features but they are locked behind a paywall.

Maybe there's grounds to think about creating another software / expanding Font Manager?
@doriane

@dobody @QuentinJuhel @doriane Simon Bouvier has this type tester with side by side comparisons in the browser via opentype.js and php https://type-tester.simon-bouvier.xyz/
type-tester

Type-tester est une site web permettant à chacun.e de mettre en scène et comparer différentes versions d'une typographie.

@clemtre @dobody @doriane Cool, But there is no possibility to organize or activate/desactivate them
@QuentinJuhel @dobody @doriane on peut remplacer le « :-) » de s(creen)m(essage) par un pangramme qui s'efface quand on commence à écrire
btw, the Flatpak package is no longer being updated. Take care if you already install it from Gnome Software or other snap/flatpak store :/
