I would love so much that maps websites and apps give the possibility for users to remove the car icons from itineraries.

I do not use cars. I do not own a car for the last 25 years. I walk. I use my bicycle. I take public transportation… and still… the first icon is always cars.

There is a big opportunity for an app which is eco-friendly for transportation, which can propose paths in forests, small alleys in cities, etc. Something which is not focused on speed optimization.

@karlcow meet #Komoot!
👍 Pros:
• no car icon on the map (no icons at all)
• profile of the route (on foot, e-biking, road cycling)
• paths in forests, small alleys in cities
👎 Cons:
• forest paths likely to not have been trodden by humans in ages and requiring bushwhacking
• route may ultimately not take you anywhere

Why? 😁

Because someone a bit crazy in the Komoot community once took that path or route and loved it.
Because of the reliance on bad OpenStreetMap data.
Or both!
